About

All communities should celebrate ever facet of creative expression, not just those we place highest value on. By celebrating, we give the message that this is important and is an underpinning foundation of community and is a recording our human story as it has been since the beginning of time.

I believe we all have a responsibility to ensure that the Creatives in our community - the song writers, musicians, painters, animators, short film makers, writers, poets, actors, sculptors, graphic artists, architects, designers, dancers, choreographers to name but a few, are valued and their profession and work is celebrated, because it tells our story.

We all want young people to have a greater diversity of opportunity as they move away from formal schooling, to see before them the chance to take on the life work that they want to do and enjoy and that will give them the life they imagine. The opportunity to see that diversity through Creative Expression, and see that the formal subjects they study at school are applied to this creative expression each and every day. The role models in their lives, teachers, parents and others should be able to identify pure maths in music, a landscape painting or with the beauty of the Fibonacci Sequence.
